Local SEO

Win the map pack. Win the booking.

For most medical, dental, cosmetic and beauty practices, the Google Maps "local pack" and the Google Business Profile are the real homepage. We optimise your profile, build location-specific pages, and structure your site to dominate the "near me" and "[treatment] + suburb" searches that drive the majority of new patient enquiries.

Why it matters

The three things Google checks before showing your clinic on the map.

01
Relevance Does your Google Business Profile and website clearly describe the specific services someone searched for? Vague category selection and thin service descriptions are the most common reason practices don't appear for treatment-specific searches.
02
Distance Largely outside your control for a single search — but multi-location practices can capture far more "near me" searches with a dedicated page and listing for each site, rather than one generic profile covering every location.
03
Prominence Review volume, review recency, citation consistency and overall site authority all signal prominence. This is the area with the most compounding upside — and the one most practices neglect after their initial Google Business Profile setup.
04
Multi-location architecture A single "Locations" page listing five clinics rarely ranks for any of them individually. Each location needs its own page, its own profile, and ideally its own local content — without duplicating content across pages in a way that creates cannibalisation.
Considerations for regulated practices

Local SEO done within advertising guidelines

What we manage carefully

Soliciting or incentivising reviews that focus on clinical outcomes (restricted under AHPRA for registered practitioners)
Duplicating near-identical location page content across sites — a technical SEO risk as well as a quality issue
Google Business Profile categories or descriptions that overstate scope of practice or registration
Review responses and Q&A content reviewed against the correct advertising framework for your profession
Location pages built around genuinely unique local content — services offered, practitioners, parking, accessibility

Local SEO — frequently asked questions

How long does it take to rank in the local pack?+
Most practices see meaningful movement in map pack visibility within 60–90 days of a Google Business Profile optimisation and citation cleanup, particularly for less competitive suburbs. Highly competitive metro categories — like cosmetic injectables in inner-city Sydney or Melbourne — typically take longer and benefit from being paired with content and technical SEO work.
We have multiple clinic locations. How does this work?+
Each location gets its own Google Business Profile and its own dedicated landing page with genuinely unique content — services offered at that site, practitioners, opening hours, parking and accessibility information. We map out the full architecture before building anything, to make sure pages support rather than compete with each other.
Can we run review campaigns if we're AHPRA-registered?+
Yes — but the approach needs care. AHPRA's National Law restricts testimonials about clinical outcomes for registered practitioners. We focus review requests on the overall experience (booking, communication, facilities) rather than soliciting comments on treatment results, and review response templates are written with the same guidelines in mind.
Do you manage our Google Business Profile ongoing, or just set it up?+
Both are available. The initial optimisation covers categories, services, attributes and a content baseline. Ongoing management — posts, photo updates, Q&A monitoring and review responses — is available as part of our Google Business Profile management service, and is one of the highest-leverage ongoing activities for local visibility.
Does local SEO replace the need for content or technical SEO?+
No — the three work together. Local SEO wins the map pack and "near me" searches; content strategy wins the broader organic results for research-stage searches; technical SEO makes sure both can actually be found and indexed. Most clients run all three together for compounding results.
What information do you need from us to get started?+
Access to your Google Business Profile (or an invitation as a manager), a list of all clinic locations and the services offered at each, and access to your website's CMS or developer. We handle the audit and planning from there — most clients are set up within a week of kickoff.
